Hi Nicole,
Welcome to planDisney!
First, let's celebrate your first visit to the Walt Disney World® Resort. Hooray!!! Knowing that you did not get tickets to
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party breaks my heart. I missed those party tickets one year as well and was so disappointed. As you noted, the event is currently sold out. I encourage you to keep checking and, when you arrive, you can also check to see if there are any tickets available.
As you continue to plan, know that the parks and resorts will be decorated in spectacular fashion. So, enjoy the decorations and
character experiences. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party aside, enjoy these
8 Hauntingly Great Tips for Celebrating Halloween at Walt Disney World. Even if you cannot get to the party, there is still wicked fun to be had!
Since this is your first visit to Disney, I also need to make a few other suggestions. If you have not already done so, make a few
advanced dining reservations. These are a must-have, especially for the more popular restaurants. One year, my girls and I decided not to go to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party but before leaving the park we had a dining reservation at
The Crystal Palace. We asked for a window table and were lucky to get one. During dinner, we enjoyed watching the party goers coming in with their fabulous costumes. We had an awesome time at dinner and just exited the park directly afterwards because the party was starting. If you decide to do something similar this year, you can just call it research - get some costume ideas for next year and then, when the time comes, book those party tickets and come back!
Nicole, I am sending a little extra pixie dust hoping that you find some party tickets. If this year turns out to be a "research" year, I trust that you will conjure up some magic!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
