Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Courtney!
Thank you so much for sending us your excellent question. If you're like me, you've been collecting Disney Gift Cards in advance of your vacation to help cover some of your expenses while visiting the most magical place on earth. It's a strategy I love to use, so I am happy to be helping you today.
Guests are not yet able to link a Disney Gift Card to their My Disney Experience Account as a method of payment when using MagicBands. However, that could one day magically be an option - stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog should it become available. Here are my tips on being able to use your MagicBand in conjunction with Disney Gift Cards:
• Link a valid credit card to your My Disney Experience Account. This will need to be done to activate your MagicBand for charging.
• Use your MagicBand for all your purchases while vacationing. Then, simply stop by the front desk of your Walt Disney World® Resort hotel to pay down your account with your Disney Gift Cards. Make sure to do this every third day, resorts charge the credit card on file every 72 hours.
What I love most about this strategy is that I don't have to keep up with my gift cards while I am out-and-about and I'm able to make sure the entire amount on the card is used. So many times I've come home from vacation to find leftover cards that still have a few dollars or cents on them.
Also, if you plan to travel with multiple cards, visit
Disneygiftcard.com! This website allows you to manage your gift cards by transferring balances onto just one card.
I hope these tips help, Courtney! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly with any additional questions you may have.
