    What is the possible last day to make reservations for a trip to Disney World? Wanting to visit the first week in January.

    Hi Donna,

    If you want to make last minute reservations for a Disney resort, you are certainly welcome to do so as long as availability exists at your resort of choice.  However, there are a number of reasons I don't recommend this strategy:

    1.  As you would imagine, room inventory shrinks as your day of arrival approaches.  Therefore, waiting until the last minute to book will likely limit the options you'll have for accommodations at Walt Disney World.

    2.  If you wish to add a Disney Dining Plan to your vacation (which I highly recommend), you will have to do that and pay for it at least three days in advance.

    3.  If you make your room reservations now, you will be given a confirmation code.  Making advance dining reservations for your trip is easier if you have this code on hand when you call (407) WDW-DINE.

    Any Walt Disney World vacation has the potential to be pure magic, even the ones planned at the last minute.  However, there are clear advantages (as outlined above) to booking sooner as opposed to later.
