Is it possible for a DVC member to get a free room upgrade at check in?

    Hi Dyann,

You can certainly ask about a room upgrade, but since you are a Disney Vacation Club member, you will most likely be charged the extra points it takes to upgrade.  The only time that this wouldn't be the case is if the room or villa you are staying on points with has a problem, and there was no other similar rooms to substitute.  Usually room upgrades do not happen because DVC resorts operate at close to 100% capacity year round, and Members pay for the upkeep of each room by using their points.  You can request specific rooms or locations, and although it is not guaranteed that you will get this, the Cast Members really try hard to honor your requests.  Thank you for the question, Dyann.  Please let me know if I can help you further!
