Hi Matt, welcome to planDisney!
Cinderella had her Fairy Godmother's help making magic. Moana had the Heart of Te Fiti. Walt Disney World Resort Guests have MagicBands, the convenient wrist accessories that give you hands-free access to the theme parks, Lightning Lane entrances, and more.
MagicBands are nontransferable once linked to an individual in My Disney Experience, even if they are deactivated. I know this is not the answer you were hoping for, Matt. Other options for
tapping into the magic around Walt Disney World Resort include purchasing a new
MagicBand, downloading a Disney MagicMobile pass, or obtaining an admission card from a theme park ticket window.
MagicBand+ designs are rechargeable and come to life during nighttime spectaculars. They must also be linked, paired to a mobile device, and fully charged before use.
Disney MagicMobile passes can be downloaded to the digital wallet of eligible iPhones, Apple Watches, and Google Pay-enabled Android phones using the
My Disney Experience mobile app. When asking for an admission card, be prepared to show email confirmation of the ticket purchase, the payment method used to make the purchase, and a valid photo ID.
On my last trip, I learned that having too many active MagicBands in a person's
My Disney Experience account can negatively affect the functionality of all the MagicBands. This helped me understand why the "Deactivate" function exists. MagicBands can also be reactivated, as desired.
I hope this information helps clarify the options for tapping into the magic on a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Matt. Please don't hesitate to contact me
directly with any follow-up questions.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
