Hi Samuel, and welcome back to planDisney!
Get ready to save the Galaxy alongside Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Drax the Destroyer, and of course, Rocket!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an attraction that you do not want to miss on your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort. It's got the thrills, the comedy, and the tunes. There are six randomized songs from the 1980s, and although they're all amazing, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears reigns supreme in my book.
With that being said, I really want you to get on this top-tier attraction, Samuel. If your theme park reservation is for
Magic Kingdom Park, and you do not plan on purchasing the
Individual Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, then you will not be able to ride it. Because, as you mentioned, the second opportunity to join the virtual queue is at 1 p.m., which is before the 2 p.m. park hopping time. However, it would be careless for me not to mention that there have been days when, believe it or not, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind return times have not totally booked up until much later in the day...
If you have a change of heart, you can always either: 1)
Modify your theme park reservation to EPCOT as your first park of the day by logging in to your
My Disney Experience account or 2) purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (even if Magic Kingdom Park is your first park because you have a ticket with a
Park Hopper option).
AN EXTRA GEM: Are you staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort hotel, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort hotel, or another participating hotel that can take advantage of
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours? If so, then there is an option for you to ride this attraction by having a park hopper option ticket (check into the first park first!) and joining the 6 p.m. virtual queue while inside EPCOT. This perk doesn't happen every night, so check out the
Hours & Events Calendar.
Worst case scenario, you can always enter the Grid at
TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom Park. So, no matter what, have that 6:55 a.m. alarm set, and get excited for some thrills at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Samuel, if you have any further questions as you plan your upcoming Disney vacation, don't hesitate to
revisit us here at planDisney. I'm all ears!
Magic always,
LeAndra
