Ahoy there, Stephanie! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited you're looking into options for how to climb aboard the
Disney Dream! My wife and I first sailed together on that ship, so it has a special place in our hearts - along with all the other
ships in the fleet! haha!
I agree your plan sounds like a great way to allow your travels to be everything you'd WISHed for and more, and it got me WONDERing about the possibilities. We sailed on over to confirm with a crew member, but unfortunately, Disney Cruise Line doesn't allow cruisers to meet the ship in a non-origin port.
While I know this may not be the MAGICal answer you were hoping for, the good news is that the
Disney Dream sails year-round and its short 3-Night and 4-Night itineraries are a great way to experience everything that's included on a Disney Cruise Line vacation! Oh, and something else to know: with the Disney Wish entering service this summer, the Disney Dream will be relocating down to the Port of Miami later this year! So if Port Canaveral and the Orlando area (and perhaps a visit to
Walt Disney World Resort) are on your list, consider your WISH granted! If your heart was set on the Disney Dream, I can tell you that sailing out of Miami is just as magical!
I hope this gives you the right coordinates to chart a course for a Disney Cruise Line vacation soon! Thank you for your question, Stephanie! If you have any others as you continue to plan, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true,
Andrew
