Is it possible to change the number of people on your dining reservation without losing it and risking there not being openings at other times? I may have to change a reservation from 8 people to 6 once booking it and am afraid of losing the reservation.

    Hi Jen,

Thanks for your great question, one we get often from guests planning their advance dining reservations at Walt Disney World.

You've already followed some of my frequent advice by making the reservation for the maximum number of people who might be in your dining party. It's always easier to reduce the number than increase it, and you can decrease the number easily without losing your reservation.

I usually make such changes to dining reservations using the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Simply go to the My Plans section and click on the reservation you need to change. You will see a Modify link. Once you click that, you can modify your party size. You can also change the time and day there, based on availability, of course.

In the desktop version of My Disney Experience, you will go to the My Reservations & Tickets section and click the "Change Reservation"  link on the reservation you want to modify.

Or, if you prefer, you can call Disney Dining at 407.939.3463.

Please let us know, Jen, if we can help in any other way as your Walt Disney World vacation nears. We're always here to help. Enjoy!
