Welcome to planDisney, Jonathan. Let's get your question answered!
At this time, when you book a vacation package to the
Walt Disney World Resort (
theme park tickets and
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room purchased together), final payment must be made 30 days before your arrival date. You are, however, able to make payments through the "
My Plans" page of My Disney Experience leading up to that date so that you can spread them out over time. This will make the final payment a smaller amount. This isn't required, of course, but many Guests, including myself, find it easier to budget this way. While the final payment of a vacation package cannot be later than 30 days before your arrival date, for a room-only reservation, you must make the initial deposit and then the rest of your balance is typically due at the time of check-in. Please note that if you go this route, you would need to book theme park tickets separately (which must be paid in full at the time of purchase) and this would make you ineligible to purchase a
dining plan as only Guests with a vacation package can purchase one. Be sure to check out the full
Terms & Conditions for more details.
Since you are arriving during the fall season, you'll want to indulge in all of the autumnal offerings the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. There's the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which runs from August 29th to November 23rd, 2024. There are beautiful decorations across the parks and some of the resort hotels.
Seasonal treats are usually readily available and the signature event,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, is offered on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park. And of course, you can usually visit the
Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom Park and
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at
Disney's Hollywood Studios for a spooky old time!
Jonathan, best wishes for planning your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any other questions,
I've got you!
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song,
Matt
