Is it possible to change which contract was used for a reservation? I recently purchased some additional points - some of which are in this use year. Once those are added to my account, can I edit which contract(s) are used?

    Hey There, Lisa!

Welcome back to planDisney from a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member!  I'm excited to hear that you have an upcoming trip planned for December –– the holidays are one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort!  In addition to spending plenty of time in the parks, I also recommend setting some time aside during your stay to visit some of the Resorts around Walt Disney World to see them all dressed up in their holiday best.  In particular, you won't want to miss the incredible gingerbread house on display at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  The craftsmanship and talent that goes into this magical creation blow my mind each and every year.  And the best part?  You can even purchase a few gingerbread shingles (the exact same ones that adorn the house) to take home and enjoy.  If you ask me, it's the perfect holiday treat!

First, let me say congratulations on your newest Disney Vacation Club contract and Welcome Home ––  it sounds like you're already dreaming up ways to put those additional Vacation Points to good use!  I don't blame you for wanting to use the new Points that will be sitting in your current Use Year, so I'm happy to report that you should be able to modify your reservation online in order to use your newest contract.  The steps for switching your reservation to a new contract are actually the same as modifying an existing reservation –– here's what you'll need to do:

    1. After signing in to the Disney Vacation Club website, hover over the "My DVC" tab and select "My Dashboard" from the drop-down menu.
    2. Under "My Vacation Plans", click the arrow next to your upcoming visit and select "View or Modify Details".
    3. Next to your room type, click "Modify".
    4. Don't change any of the details on the "Modify Your Search" page –– simply scroll to the bottom and select "Check Availability".
    5. On the next page, you should see your existing reservation come up as available.  Click the arrow next to this reservation and select "Continue".
    6. Now, the screen should be showing your available contracts.  Choose the contract you would like to use and click "Continue".
    7. Continue following the on-screen prompts to review your booking and finalize your reservation.

And that's it!  You should be on your way to enjoying those brand-new Vacation Points!  If you prefer to modify the contract for your existing reservation over the phone, you can also do this by giving Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800.

Thanks for bringing another question to planDisney, Lisa.  I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit is filled with holiday cheer and lots of Membership magic!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
