Connor from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Is there any possible way to change my assigned dining time even though it says it is not available online when I try and change it?

Ahoy there, Connor! Welcome aboard planDisney! Thanks for sailing my way with your question about seating times on your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation!

Based on your question, I'm going to lean overboard and assume that you're currently assigned the Second Seating and you'd prefer the Main Seating? What's that? How could I guess? Let's just say if I had a nickel for every time a FAMILY MEMBER alone asked me this question, I'd have...well, let's say a shipload of nickels!

Now I'm usually one to sing the praises of second seating, as I've had it for all but two of the cruises I've taken! That streak is going to come to an end, however, as now our son is calling some of the shots, and though I'm firmly in the "routine goes out the window" camp on vacation, mealtimes have started to become somewhat sacred, so I totally understand the need to change.

I have good news, however, as there's a brand way to make the request to change your seating! Now, if you wish to change your dinner seating to a time that is at capacity, you will now be able to join the waitlist directly from the "My Reservations" page! Simply log in, select your reservation and scroll down to the "Dining" section and you will be able to select "Join the Waitlist Now" if the dining time you would prefer is at capacity!

This will put your official request in with the crew members, without having to contact a crew member by phone or email! While there isn't a guarantee that your request will be honored, you will be able to check which seating you have on the My Reservations page all the way up to the day of your cruise!

If it comes time to embark and you're still not in the seating you'd prefer, I do suggest you stop by Guest Services (Deck 3, Midship) the moment after your arrival is announced by the crew! Again, there are no guarantees, but depending on how the capacity of your sailing shakes out, you may just be in luck!

I hope that gives you a few headings with which to cast off into the big blue! Thanks so much for your question, Connor, and if any others surface while you continue planning please drop me another line here at planDisney.

Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
