Is it possible to buy park tickets for others who will be coming to the park as a gift

Welcome to planDisney, Laura! With the holiday season in full swing, there's no better time to celebrate the spirit of giving, and gifting tickets to visit the Walt Disney World Resort is one way to make someone's holiday extra merry and bright!

Laura, to gift theme park tickets to someone, you have a couple of options, so let's explore the details of each one so you can decide which option is better for you!

The first option is to purchase the tickets online and select This order will be a gift during the checkout process. You will need to enter the recipient's first and last name and they will be able to pick up their gifted tickets at a theme park ticket window. Be sure the name you enter matches the information on their valid form of ID that they will use to pick up the tickets. You should also receive an email confirmation with the ticket information, which will allow the recipient to link the tickets directly to his or her My Disney Experience account if you prefer. For this option, you will want to purchase the tickets at least 24-48 hours in advance to ensure you receive the confirmation via email or to ensure availability upon arrival.

Another option is to purchase the tickets online and directly link them to the intended recipient's My Disney Experience account. To do this, they will need to be linked under your Family & Friends List on My Disney Experience; when you go to complete the check-out process, you can link the tickets directly to their account and they'll be able to use them right away. If the gift is a surprise, or you don't want to link them immediately, you can always link the tickets to your own My Disney Experience account and then reassign the ticket to someone else when you are ready to gift them. To do this, click on My Tickets & Passes in the My Disney Experience mobile app and find the ticket you would like to gift, then select Reassign Ticket to transfer the ticket to its intended user. To do this, you will need to be connected as Family & Friends as well.

Laura, I hope this helps you to give the gift of magic this holiday season! If you have any other questions, come on back to planDisney anytime and let us know! We hope to see you again real soon!

    Happy Holidays,
    Alison
