Is it possible to bring snacks & drinks into the parks or is outside food prohibited?

    Hi Amy,

You absolutely are welcome to bring drinks and snacks into the parks at Walt Disney World! I usually carry water, a protein bar and a few munchies in my bag, but you can even bring a small cooler if you want.

Bringing snacks or other food is a good way to stretch your dining dollars, to appease picky eaters or to be meet special dietary considerations. You often see families sitting on benches making sandwiches and passing a bag of chips, especially at lunch time. I once saw a family unpack an entire hot meal from a small cooler stowed in the bottom of a stroller. It looked an smelled so delicious that I was tempted to ask to join them.

There are just a couple of restrictions. You can't bring in glass (except for baby food) or alcohol. Coolers must be no larger than 24"x15"x18".

My only caution is to be sure you don't weigh yourself down too heavily, especially if you don't have a stroller. And I recommend a refillable water bottle. (You can get free ice water at most counter service locations. Just ask.)

I hope that helps in your planning. Please check back with me or any of my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends if you have any more questions. We're happy to help.

    Enjoy your visit!
