Thanks for visiting us again here at planDisney, Michelle! Vacation packages make planning a visit to Walt Disney World easy, as they include your hotel stay and tickets, plus you can add the
Disney Dining Plan to pay for your meals in advance. Talk about convenience! I have some important information for you about packages, add-ons, and benefits that you may find helpful.
A
vacation package requires 2 or more days of theme park tickets to be bundled with a hotel stay, and the Disney Dining Plan can only be added to vacation packages. You won't be able to book a package with only a single day ticket, and you can't add a dining plan since your purchase won't qualify as a package.
I know that as a Disney Vacation Club Member I can add a dining plan to my reservation without purchasing tickets, and I've heard from Annual Passholders who have done this as well. I'm not sure if this benefit is restricted to these groups, so it may be worth your while to give the
Hotel Reservations line a call to see what your options are. A friendly Cast Member may be able to provide guidance about booking a room only reservation and adding a dining plan to it, if available. Once you get that squared away you will be able to purchase your one day theme park admission either online or via the
My Disney Experience app.
If you're able to enjoy another day at the parks, I highly encourage you to book the vacation package! Not only will this simplify your planning, but you'll receive
Magical Extras as part of your purchase. These discounts and offers provide significant savings on dining, activities, and merchandise, so check them out before making your decision.
Go forth, Michelle, and book that vacation! I am wishing you a restful hotel stay, a boatload of fun at the parks, and filling meals wherever you dine. Come see us again at planDisney for more tips, advice, and suggestions.
Stay magical,
Scott
