Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

Hello, is it possible to book a Fastpass for the Magic Kingdom fireworks?

    Hi Nicola,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It’s a pleasure to see you again! Happily Ever After has rapidly become my absolute favourite fireworks show at Walt Disney World Resort. I saw it multiple times during my last visit, from several viewing angles, and it never gets old.

During the previous incarnation of Magic Kingdom Park’s nightly fireworks spectacular, Wishes, it was possible to include a designated viewing area as part of your FastPass+ selections for your day in the Park. This option was discontinued, however, several months before the final presentation of Wishes and was not revived once Happily Ever After premiered.

While a FastPass+ option may not exist for Happily Ever After, that doesn’t mean that you’re out of options! I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing several times and I highly recommend it. You get to feast on some yummy desserts (and savoury items, too) during the reception at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, and then head down to the Plaza Garden Viewing Area, which is similar in both size (and view) to the FastPass+ viewing location that used to be available. I prefer that option to the “seated” version of this dessert party, the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, as I find the view is better from the Plaza Garden (although having a covered and seated location for the show is also lovely, especially if some members of your party have mobility restrictions).

There is also a new version, the Magic Kingdom After-Fireworks Dessert Party, which gives you access to the same reserved area for fireworks viewing, but you get to indulge in treats after the show. I’ve also experienced that party and I thought it was lovely, though I’d recommend against it if you don’t have dinner plans that night or if you have young children in your party.

Please remember that, if you choose to secure your own viewing location along Main Street U.S.A. or in the “hub” or garden areas in front of Cinderella Castle, I highly recommend that you pick a location at least 45 minutes before showtime, if not one hour beforehand if it’s a particularly busy day at Magic Kingdom Park.

As always, I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect Disney Day. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
