Hi Jennifer!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you found us hEAR, and thank you for this great
Disneyland Resort vacation planning question. I'm happy to be your planEAR today!
This really is a great question, Jennifer. Disneyland is The Happiest Place on Earth and is also known as "Where Dreams Come True." Of all the
Theme Park Admission Ticket options, the only way to add on the Park Hopper option at the time of your initial ticket purchase is to add it for all of your Disney days. However
, you
can upgrade your base tickets once you're actually in the parks to add the Park Hopper option. The only caveat with this is once you add it, the park hopper option (and its daily additional cost) will be applied to that current day as well as any remaining days you have left. So in your case, if you're willing to switch your days around a bit to be Day 1:
Disneyland Park, Day 2:
Disney California Adventure Park, Day 3: Park Hop Day, you'll be able to make this Disney dream a reality and add the option to only one Disney day.
hEAR's what you're going to do:
~ Buy 3-day 1-park-per-day
theme park admission tickets.
~ For your
Park Pass Reservations, reserve your Day 1 and Day 2 parks as whichever location you want to visit for those two days.
~ For your Day 3 Park Hop day, make your
Park Pass Reservation for whichever park you'd like to
start your day in. Then, at 1:00 PM you'll be able to hop over to the other park and go back and forth as much as you'd like.
~ Once you're actually at Disneyland, enjoy days 1 and 2 as planned. Then, on day 3, you'll upgrade to the park hopper option AFTER you've already entered the theme park that you booked for that morning. You can absolutely walk in the park, turn around and exit it, and make the upgrade first thing in the morning, or you can wait until after lunchtime, around the time that you're ready to hop. You might be able to make this upgrade in the
Disneyland Mobile App, but if not you will for sure be able to at the ticket booths in the esplanade between the two theme park entrances, and possibly at the
Guest Relations locations that are in the parks. (City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland Park and the Chamber of Commerce next to the gas station near the entrance of Disney California Adventure Park.)
I hope that this helped to plan your upcoming Disney days, Jennifer! Be sure to follow the
