Is it possible to bike to other resorts or areas from Fort Wilderness?

Hi Beth! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You are going to LOVE your stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort next week! This location gives the best of both worlds: the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort and the peaceful relaxation of camping. How fun!

I spoke with a Cast Member about getting around Walt Disney World Resort property on a bike and was told that it is not recommended because of the high volume of traffic and the lack of bike lanes and sidewalks in many areas. There is also a lot of construction that is currently taking place. In fact, when I checked the bike rental page for Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, there was a note that bike rentals are temporarily suspended due to the amount of construction in the area. Disney puts safety first for all of their Guests, so you will not want to plan on using your bike as transportation.

You can use the complimentary transportation options (bus, boat, and monorail) to travel to other Disney Resort hotels by simply making your way first to any of the theme parks or Disney Springs, then transferring to the appropriate mode of transportation traveling to the Disney Resort hotel you need to get to. For a small fee, you can also use a taxi, ride-sharing service, or Minnie Van Service to travel directly between Disney Resort hotels.

Enjoy your stay, Beth! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
