is it possible to get ariel to let me hide and surprise my 10yr old sister for her birthday. I havent seen her in about a year and she doesnt know i will be there. Are there any other ways to make her day special (besides the disney buttons)

    Hi, Shalyn!

Thanks so much for sending another question to Disney Parks Moms Panel!

What a sweet idea you have here for surprising your soon-to-be 10-year-old sister as she visits Walt Disney World for her birthday!

If your sister is going to Meet Ariel at Her Grotto, I'll bet that you can work your way into hiding behind some gadgets and gizmos aplenty. When you arrive at Magic Kingdom (well before your sister is going to arrive), ask a Cast Member near the entrance to the grotto how you can arrange to be waiting in the wings. With a little creativity, extra time and planning, you may be able to give your little sister a great surprise for her birthday!

We often celebrate a big birthday or other significant event while in WDW with a special meal. If your sister has a favorite type of food, check out dining in Magic Kingdom Park, locate her favorites on the menus and treat her to some of those on her special day. Other options are listed on this Customize Your Special Occasion birthday list, too, so take a look! My favorites include the Happy Birthday Ear Hat as well as a specialty cake.

Because your sister will be 10, you may want to ride some attractions with her that she is just now tall enough to enjoy, too. Spend some time wandering the parks together; I'll bet that this will be among her favorite memories of the day!

Send more questions about celebrating your sister's special day, Shalyn; we love to help!
