Hi Mimi and thanks for the great question! While I will say there really isn't a bad seat in the house for Fantasmic, I still recommend the Dining Package because it is a great deal!
If you go online to the
Fantasmic Dining Package booking page you will easily be able to choose between 3 fabulous Hollywood Studios restaurants and secure your reservation. With three diverse options, you are sure to find one to suit your taste. Reservations are available online or by calling (407)WDWDINE up to 180 days in advance. I see you are not arriving until November, so you will not be able to see available times online until you are within 180 days the date you are trying to book (sometime in May).
The way this works is, when you book, you will select your restaurant and preferred time. After dining at the restaurant of your choice, you will be given a VIP voucher which will entitle you to preferred seating for a specific showing of Fantasmic. This is also great, because seating at Fantasmic is first-come first serve and people begin showing up hours before the show to secure the best seats. As a VIP voucher holder, you only need to arrive about 30 minutes prior to showing and will have access to the front rows near the center of the amphitheater.
Last time my family purchased the dining package, we ate at Mama Melrose. We were amazed that we were able to each choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert for one fixed price. After our early dinner, we left to enjoy the parks for a while before arriving at Fantasmic just before show time! We were seated in the second row and could feel the mist on our faces and the heat from the fire!
As I said earlier, there are really no bad seats, but since we have to eat anyway, the preferred seating is really just a great perk for my family! Hope that helps!
