Is it possible for adults to wear costumes during the Christmas party season? I'm going to wear the same outfit, not the costume

Hi there, Sojin, and a very merry welcome to planDisney!

I'm absolutely delighted to answer your question today, because there's nothing quite like knowing you've chosen a practically perfect outfit for your upcoming Disney vacation. In my opinion, it makes packing one of the best parts of the planning process!

When selecting an outfit for a day in Walt Disney World's theme parks, you'll want to make sure it adheres to the dressing guidelines (linked here) that prohibit costumes and clothing that exposes excessive amounts of skin or drags the ground.

If you'll be attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or Disney Jollywood Nights, you'll find that the dress code allows for a bit more flexibility as Guests celebrate the holiday season. While costumes are more than welcome, they must not include a mask and cannot drag the ground, as both of these pose safety concerns for yourself and other Guests, and it's important to keep in mind that admission based upon dressing guidelines is ultimately up to Cast Members at the theme park's entrance. Because of this, my suggestion when planning your wardrobe is to consider if it poses a potential tripping hazard, could impede the navigation of those around you, and if it maintains the family-friendly environment of Walt Disney World Resort.

I attended both Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights with some planDisney pals last year and can assure you that you'll see a variety of outfits at each event. From Christmas pajamas and tacky sweaters to the velvet and gemstone glamour of Hollywood's golden age, there's no one 'right' way to dress for the events. Personally, I opted for a Mickey and Minnie-inspired Christmas tee and socks for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and a metallic midi dress for Jollywood Nights. With my seasonal face paint from a kiosk in Magic Kingdom Park, I fit right in at both celebrations!

I ho-ho-hope this clears things up, Sojin, but if you have any additional questions about dressing for the theme parks, don't hesitate to stop back by planDisney. You've got a friend in me!
