When at a port is food and alcohol free?

Ahoy there, Ellen! Welcome aboard, planDisney!

One of the best things about a Disney cruise is that there are so many offerings included with your cruise fare. From Broadway-style shows, endless activities, fireworks at sea, first-run Disney movies, to delicious food, there is so much (and more!) that Captain Mickey loves spoiling his guests with!

One of my favorite included offerings is the endless amounts of included food! I do mean endless, because you can enjoy as much as you'd like! While on board, food options that are included with your cruise fare are Rotational Dining, Room Service, buffets, soft-serve ice cream, and Concierge Lounge offerings if you’re a Concierge Guest. Drinks such as water and soda from fountain machines on the pool deck, as well as in the main dining restaurants, are also included. Food and drinks that are an additional cost on board are adult dining, specialty coffee drinks, alcoholic beverages, bottled water, canned soda, popcorn, packaged snacks, and desserts from any of the specialty dessert shops.

While at any other Port of Call that is not one of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations, food and alcohol are not included. However, if you’re booking a Port Adventure at a Port of Call, sometimes food and alcoholic beverages might be included with that specific activity. The details listed in the Port Adventure description will give you more insight about this.

Now, for the best part! Everything that’s included on board your Disney cruise is also included at Disney Cruise Line's Ports of Call, Disney Castaway Cay, and Disney Lookout Key at Lighthouse Point! This means everything I listed previously with the included food, drinks, and, yes, even soft-serve ice cream! Disney Cruise Line chefs will even prepare a delicious barbecue lunch at each of these magical destinations, so that you don’t even have to get back on board for a lunch break! Everything that is an additional charge on board is also an additional charge here. This includes specialty beverages such as smoothies, cappuccino drinks, alcoholic beverages, etc.

Since we’re talking about food, I suggest enjoying as many soft-serve ice cream cones as possible, both on board your Disney cruise and at one of Disney Cruise Line’s tropical destinations. It’s included and spectacularly delicious, especially on a hot Caribbean day, so why wouldn’t you?! When we're on a Disney cruise, it’s an unspoken rule in my family that we don’t count the number of soft-serve ice-cream cones consumed, because unlimited ice cream without judgment is our right as a Disney cruiser!

Ellen, I hope I was able to offer some delicious clarification. I wish you the most delectable memories on board your Disney cruise! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
