We have a port arrival time of 1:00 PM. We are a group of 6 family members and have a rental car. Our plan is to have my husband drop off the 5 of us with our luggage, then head back to drop off the rental car and come back. Do we all need to be present?

    Hi, Marta!

Thanks for sailing over to planDisney as you prepare for your magical cruise with Captains Mickey and Minnie at the helm. They have a boatload of activities planned so make sure to have the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App downloaded on your phones so you do not miss any of the fun!

You are welcome to board your Disney Cruise Line ship while your husband returns your rental car (please make sure to allow plenty of time). If you decide to separate, each person should have their travel documents needed for port arrival check-in (most importantly: have passports ready!) Once you have checked in, simply wait for your boarding group to be called then you are welcome to board the ship. You might want to plan on a meet-up location onboard so your husband will be able to find you quickly.

If this is your first Disney Cruise, you may want to wait and board together. It is quite magical as you receive your first grand welcome from the crew, and you might prefer to experience this together. Even if your husband drops you off, you might want to wait in the terminal waiting area until he catches up with you so you can make your magical entrance together.

Once everyone is on the ship, the party can get started! Enjoy a delicious lunch, tour the ship, or head straight to the pool for a big splash! Enjoy the ship until your stateroom is ready (usually around 1:30pm). While your room will be ready, your luggage may not arrive until later in the afternoon but feel free to settle in and unpack any carry-ons you brought onboard.

If you have children in your travel party, the first day is a great time to tour the Oceaneer Club (ages 3-10), Edge (tweens), or Vibe (ages 14-17). The counselors will be available to meet your young sailors, give tours, and answer any questions. The youth clubs are great for meeting new friends and enjoying age-related activities.

If you have any other questions prior to your sailing, stop back to planDisney. Our entire team wishes your family a magical cruise and we can't wait to see you onboard real soon!
