Hi, Estelle!
Welcome to planDisney. Sailing to Alaska on a Disney Cruise will be an incredible adventure for your family!
Your
Port Arrival Time is your pixie‑dusted ticket for when you can enter the terminal and begin the pre‑boarding process. I like to arrive right around my assigned time to drop off luggage since there’s really no need to show up earlier. The one exception is for Guests driving themselves, as arriving about 30 minutes early makes it easier to find parking and get your bags settled without feeling rushed.
In my experience, luggage drop-off is sometimes available a bit before your Port Arrival Time (often around 11:00 AM). Just keep in mind that entering the terminal itself usually isn’t allowed until your designated time unless you’re using
Disney Cruise Line transportation. I personally love booking Disney Cruise Line transfers because it streamlines everything and often gets me into the terminal sooner! It's one less thing to think about while dreaming of glaciers and bald eagles!
Speaking of dreaming…it’s almost packing time! Alaska weather likes to keep you guessing, even in summer. I suggest packing layers, like cozy fleece for glacier days and lighter outfits for those surprisingly warm afternoons. I’m sailing to Alaska next year, and I’ve already convinced myself that “research shopping” is absolutely necessary! If you need ideas, this
packing list is a great place to start.
Estelle, I hope your Alaskan adventure is filled with wonder, wildlife, and a little Disney magic woven into every moment! Please stop by planDisney if you have more questions.
Happy sailing!
Jen
