When we are at the port (Alaska), can my kids stay at the kids club while we do an excursion? Is it supervised? Like I don't want them checking themselves out while we are gone Ages 6, 7, 3

    Hi there, Lyndie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Wahoo!  You are going on an Alaskan adventure with Captain Mickey!  My family just got back from our second Alaskan adventure earlier this month and boy oh boy did we have a great time!  In fact, I am already trying to figure out when I can go back again because there is just so much to do and discover in Alaska!

I am so glad to hEAR you are planning an excursion without your Mouseketeers!!  While it’s always fun to explore and experience things with littles, it’s also fun to do things that maybe they aren’t quite big enough to do – or wouldn’t appreciate as much!  On our first Alaskan adventure, we left our two littles in the nursery and went on a floatplane excursion in Ketchikan and it was amazing!  I was eager to get back to the ship after flying through the Misty Fjords but was so thankful that Disney Cruise Line gave me the opportunity to leave them somewhere safe and secure so we could experience that!  You have nothing to worry about, though, because your kiddos will be checked into secured programming when you head off the ship.  In fact, your Mouseketeers will ALWAYS have to be checked in – and out – when they visit the Oceaneer Club or Lab as they cannot self-check out until they are eight years old.  I do recommend informing the Youth Club Counselors that you are planning on heading off the ship when you check them in so that they are aware you are not reachable during that time.  Also, if you will be gone during lunchtime, they will offer food to your kiddos, but if they have any dietary restrictions, you will want to make arrangements with your dining room servers the night before to have a meal delivered during lunchtime.

If you are looking for a family friendly excursion in Ketchikan, I highly recommend the Lumberjack Show!  My family and I so enjoyed this exciting show; the ability and strength of those lumberjacks was incredible!  And they make it so exciting for Guests of all ages to enjoy!

Wishing you a WONDERful adventure in Alaska, Lyndie!

    Happy Sailing!
