POR 9/2-9/7. plan on getting to resort by 7 am so we can get to MK for opening ceremony. can we check in that early or leave our bags there then take bus to MK? Do you think that gives me enough time to get to MK for opening or should i get there earlier?

    Hi Barbie!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

When you arrive at Disney's Port Orleans Resort, you can leave your luggage with Bell Services, who will give you a ticket in exchange for your bags.   When you are reading to check-in to your room, you just go and claim your luggage back from Bell Services, and they will be happy to help you bring your luggage to your room.  Room check-in is usually available from 3.00 p.m. but it is possible your room could be ready earlier than this (but unlikely to be ready as early as 7.00 a.m., unless it is not being used the day before).

On September 2nd, The Magic Kingdom park opens at 9.00 a.m.  The bus ride from your resort to the Magic Kingdom takes approximately 17 minutes, and be sure to add extra time for waiting for the bus.  Buses will start operating around an hour before theme park opening, so I would recommend you go to the bus stop to be ready for that first bus at 8.00 a..m, this way you can arrive at the park in good time to secure yourselves a position for the opening ceremony.  Have a wonderful time!, I love the opening ceremony at the Magic Kingdom.

If you have any other questions, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
