We are going to POR this May, while looking at some pics on tripviser I noticed some waveracers in the water, the pic was dated Jan 2015, are the boat rental back at this resort, we really wanted to try them but heard they stopped operating back in March??

Surf's up, Samantha! If you're looking for fun on the water at the Walt Disney World Resort, we can help.

My family loves to hop aboard a personal watercraft and tool around the waterways at Walt Disney World. The first time we tried it was at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, but unfortunately, Disney did stop boat rentals at its hotels in the Moderate category, which also includes Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.

But don't give up on your sun-drenched day on the water, Samantha! You can still rent watercraft at the Deluxe resort hotels. Here's where you'll find motorized boat rentals:

    Magic Kingdom Area

    • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
    • Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
    • Disney's Contemporary Resort
    • Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort
    • Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

    Epcot Area

    • Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Many of these resorts are just a hop and a skip from a theme park, and you don't have to be a guest at the resort to rent a boat. Just find your way to the marina and and a Cast Member will help you set sail.

I hope this helps you have a ship-shape visit to Walt Disney World, Samantha. Ahoy!

    Have a magical day,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
