Moms and Pops: If we want to spend a day at our esort instead of a park, what resorts have fun organized activities throughout the day (like movies, campfires ....). Thanks

The WDW resorts offer different activities but you are sure to find fun things to do wherever you decide to bunk down for your vacation.

For instance, the Beach Club where I was staying this weekend advertised a Campfire Sing-Along and Movies Under the Stars located on the beach near the kiddie pool. The schedule included a 7:00 p.m. campfire with marshmallows and Smores available for purchase. At 8:00 p.m. Movies Under the Stars. All the Disney movies listed were rated G or PG. At the pool, kids were participating in all kinds of games throughout the day. I also saw children doing indoor activities with Cast Members in the lobby. This included board games and building blocks. There were ping pong tables set up outside near the pool.

The Grand Floridian offers pool-side activities and ladybug release programs. At the Polynesian, kids can learn to hula or make leis. On many afternoons, kids can participate in arts and crafts along with Disney movies at the Neverland Club from Noon until 4:00 p.m. Afternoons bring pool-side games to the Nanea Volcano pool. On select evenings, the torch lighting ceremony takes place near the Great Ceremonial House.  The Animal Kingdom Lodge offers storytelling by the Arusha firepit.

At Port Orleans Riverside, your family can rent a boat, go fishing, play croquet and take a carriage ride. Most of these activities require a fee. The Caribbean Beach Resort has playgrounds, sandy beaches (purchase a kid’s meal at the food court and the meal is served in a handy sand pail), bike rentals and an arcade. A variety of activities are offered such as crafts, beach and poolside fun. Call Recreation from your resort room for details.
