PopPop here. Recently retired. My wife and I are planning our first Disney vacation (2 weeks). Children/grandchildren will join us in week 2. Staying at Saratoga Springs and Spa. Trying to plan itinerary. Wow! Where to begin. Suggestions?

    Hi Gerald,

A Disney Deluxe Villa Resort such as Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is a great choice for having a larger family traveling with you. If you are in a one-bedroom or larger villa, the amenities such as a living room, full kitchen and laundry in the villa are wonderful for a larger group!

In order to start planning for your Walt Disney World vacation, make sure that you have set up a My Disney Experience account. This will allow you to manage many parts of your vacation including your resort reservation, your tickets, and your dining reservations. Next, make sure that you have Disney theme park tickets for everyone in the traveling party. You will need to decide how many days you think you will be visiting the theme parks. For example, if you and your wife will be visiting theme parks during your first week, you should buy tickets that have more days on them than for the rest of your party, who will only be there during the second week. I suggest that you view the Walt Disney World planning video online to see which experiences your family might enjoy. Then you can start to make Disney FastPass+ selections and Disney dining reservations.

I know that this may seem like a lot to do Gerald; however, taking these steps before your trip should help you to have a great experience while you are there. I would love to help you plan more; however, I am limited in the space that I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
