Hi Bonnie! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by!
If you've settled on
Disney's Pop Century Resort as the hotel you plan on staying at during your visit, you have made a great choice. This resort is a fan favorite and offers everything you need to have an amazing trip. The main pool area is always busy and full of life! There is a wonderful gift shop, rightfully named,
Everything Pop, that has a quick service dining location connected to it as well. The resort rooms were recently refurbished and now come equipped with up-to-date features that come in very handy on a trip. I can't say enough great things about this resort!
For many Guests, having the
Disney Skyliner only steps away is a major perk of staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort. Being that it connects you within minutes to neighboring resorts and theme parks, it makes traveling to and from this resort fairly simple. However, I do understand that this mode of transportation is not for everyone. I always consider the Skyliner an attraction in itself, but with that said, Guests that have a fear of heights might not want to give it a go. I would still try to convince members of your party to try it out just once to make sure it is not something they may be able to handle.
Since this is the primary way to get to
Disney's Hollywood Studios and
EPCOT, buses do not run from this resort to these parks. But, Hakuna Matata, there is a viable solution if the Disney Skyliner is a no-go.
Disney's Art of Animation Resort offers bus transportation to each of these two parks, even though it shares the same Skyliner station as Pop Century. You'll need to cross the small bridge that connects the two resorts over Hourglass Lake and head through the main lobby to the front of the resort where you will find the buses.
Note: If for some reason the Disney Skyliner is temporarily shut down, Disney will begin offering bus transportation to and from Pop Century. This will mostly happen during inclement weather and Skyliner malfunctions.
Bonnie, if you get a chance to take advantage of other fun Disney transportation options, I recommend you do so. There are plenty of opportunities to hop on a boat, whether you are at the EPCOT Resort Area or hanging out at
Disney Springs. You also have the monorail that connects three different resorts to the Magic Kingdom Park.
Have a magical time during your upcoming stay!
