Hi, are the pools heated on Disney Wonder to Alaska? Can we purchase wifi plans ahead of time? Thanks!

Ahoy, Vivien! My family's Disney Cruise Line adventure to Alaska was, quite simply, the most magnificent experience ever! It's been nearly three years, and my boys still talk about it with details that tell me just how strong of an impression it made.

I'm glad you came by planDisney with this question. We had planned for Port Adventures and were so excited about the wildlife and landscapes we saw. We thought we had prepared. But when the sun was still shining brightly at 11 p.m., we hadn't thought about just how much more pool and playtime we would have. Disney Cruise Line thinks of and prepares for everything! On the pool deck, we found blankets in the towel stations at night for movie-watching on Funnel Vision. A Disney movie, a cup of hot cocoa, a blanket and the Alaska skyline made for an enchanted evening.

The pools were heated, and it was fun to have memories and pictures of the kids swimming outside in Alaska! I was excited to be on the Disney Wonder and enjoy Twist ‘n’ Spout. Luckily, my husband went first and met me at the exit with a towel in hand. The breeze on a moving ship was a bit chilly when getting off the slide or out of the pools. But in the water, the temperature is warm enough to enjoy.

Regarding your question about Wi-Fi, the packages can only be purchased when you are on the ship and connected to Disney Cruise Line's Wi-Fi system. There are various options, including the duration of the package, the types of media supported and the number of simultaneous users. Although I like to be out of range for work, I couldn't wait to post pictures of orca pods we saw from our stateroom verandah. Having an internet plan allowed us to post images and share our experiences while they were happening. Seriously, just thinking about our cruise brings me so much joy!

Vivien, make sure you have downloaded the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Not only will it help when it's time to purchase the Wi-Fi access, but it will tell keep you up-to-speed on everything on board. If you see a presentation by a naturalist, I encourage you to stop by. As I said, Disney plans for everything, and the Alaska itineraries usually include specialists who teach you so much about all the wonder that abounds on these cruises.

If we can help with any other questions, please cruise back by planDisney. We're all aboard to help!

    SEAS the Adventure!
