What are the pool hours for POFQ? Is the pool heated for our Feb. 2012 visit? Which building do you prefer #4 or #5? This is our 1st visit to WDW, we have a D6. Thanks for all your help!!

    Hi Sandy,

The pools at Walt Disney World are heated year-round; and I find there are always guests in the pools, regardless of the temperatures.  The pool at Port Orleans French Quarter is open 24 hours, but the slide will close down at 10:00 pm when the lifeguards are no longer present.

As for which building is better is really a matter of what matters most to you.  Building #4 is close to the main building where Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory is located as well as the bus stop.  Sometimes I really prefer being close to the bus stop, especially when our children were younger.  The walk back to the room at the end of a long day at the park can really be a killer if it is lengthy.

Building #5 is next to Doubloon Lagoon (the pool) and also has great views of Sassagoula River.  So there are some rooms that may hear pool sounds while other rooms that have lots of peace and quiet with both the view and noise level.  As my children were older, they liked the short walk to the pool.

Thank you for the question; please let us know if we can help again.  Your trip is nearly here!
