When will the pool at Beach Club be open?

    Hi Lisa!

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question and trusting me with your vacation planning needs. Disney’s Beach Club Resort has quickly become a favorite in my family’s rotation, and it’s not hard to see why! Its unbeatable proximity to EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance, the scenic walking path to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the incredible dining options along Disney’s BoardWalk all make it a top pick. And let’s not forget access to the Disney Skyliner, perfect for one of my favorite non-park day activities: resort hopping!

Let’s talk pools, shall we? The crown jewel of Disney Resort pools, in my opinion, is Stormalong Bay, so I completely understand wanting to plan around its availability. After all, with its sand-bottomed pool, lazy river, and that shipwreck waterslide, it’s a destination in itself!

At this time, I don’t have a definitive answer as to exactly when Stormalong Bay and the adjacent Shipwreck Pool will reopen. What I can tell you is that, according to the latest update on the Walt Disney World Resort website, both will be closed for routine maintenance from January 2025 through June 2025 as part of ongoing refurbishments at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. If I were a betting man, I’d wager that the refurbishment will be wrapped up sooner rather than later to welcome the first wave of summer vacationers. But as with any construction project, timelines can shift, so I’ll be crossing my fingers that your trip lines up with that reopening window and you can have your toes back in the sand in no time!

That said, you won’t be left without a way to cool off. Guests staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort during the refurbishment will continue to have access to several other leisure pools around the property, including the Tidal Pool and Dunes Cove Pool at Disney’s Beach Club and the Admiral Pool at Disney’s Yacht Club. All of these offer a more laid-back vibe and are great for a midday dip or a relaxing evening swim after the parks.

I know this might not be the definitive splash-tastic news you were hoping for, but if you’re looking for some refreshing alternatives in the meantime, I’d be more than happy to point you toward my favorite cocktails and dining experiences in the EPCOT resort area. Just say the word!

    Cheers,
    Brent
