Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Carolyn!
I am a huge fan of traveling light! I try to pack with carry-on only luggage, and that includes seven-night vacations for a family of four! That being said, I am obviously a huge fan of doing laundry at Walt Disney World Resort- and I promise that isn’t even sarcastic! Every Walt Disney World Resort hotel does have laundry facilities for Guest use. At
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the laundry room is located next to Lilo's Playhouse. Here are a few things to keep in mind when using laundry facilities at a Disney Resort hotel:
-Most washers and dryers are purchased using a debit or credit card- no need to bring those heavy rolls of quarters anymore!
-Detergent and fabric softener are also available to be purchased with a debit or credit card. If you have sensitive skin, I suggest bringing your own!
-You can request a text message to indicate when your cycle is complete! There is no need to wait around the laundry room, however, Walt Disney World Resort is not responsible for any missing items. Try to be back on time for the end of your cycle, laundry rooms tend to be busy and it’s not fun waiting on other Guests to collect their clothing from a dryer whose cycle ended 20 minutes prior!
-Don’t forget to bring a collapsible laundry basket, large bag, or at the very least, a garbage bag to transport your clothing to the laundry room. Alternatively, an empty suitcase works well.
-As I mentioned, laundry rooms can be busy, especially during peak times! I found that first thing in the morning was the least busy time as most Guests are sleeping, having breakfast, or on their way to the Disney Theme Parks!
I hope this answers your question and that you have a magical vacation! Please come and visit us again real soon!
