Aloha, Crystal!
You are a girl after my own heart, wanting to plan a private party at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! That sounds like a dream... and you know what they say, “if you can dream it, you can DO it!” My husband and I were married on an island for a destination wedding, and it seems that any party I’ve planned since has a tropical theme to it (no matter the season). Let’s look at what could be possible for your special event at the
Walt Disney World Resort!
To learn about what’s available and to understand your options, please
reach out to the wonderful team at
Disney Meetings and Events. This team plans spectacular events from large corporate conferences to individual receptions and private gatherings, with no detail left to chance. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is listed on their site as “perfect for small events” as this particular resort doesn’t have a conference center but I think that means it will be just your size and style. I also encourage you to review the options and connect with the magical team at
Disney Weddings, as they may have some inspiration and additional ideas for a private reception or can point you in the right direction.
Depending on the size of your party, you may find that a large group dining reservation meets your needs.
‘Ohana is excellent for larger parties as they offer a fixed price, all you care to eat experience with
incredible Asian-tropical fusion flavors. (I love to
make their chicken wings at home.) This is a popular destination, and you’ll need to speak with someone directly at
Disney Dining for such a request, but it may be an alternative for you if needed.
The
Oasis Patio at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort may also be possible. These private shaded areas are poolside escapes for groups of six but there are several available at the resort to reserve for a full or half day, 60 days in advance. You can get to-go orders from the Barefoot Pool Bar,
Captain Cook’s, or even a round of quintessential
DOLE Whip® frozen treats for your group and enjoy them together on the patio. While you don’t need to be staying at this resort to make a dining reservation at ‘Ohana, you do need to be a guest at the resort to reserve the Oasis Patio.
I hope this gives you some direction and inspiration to begin making plans for a special event at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Please
come back and see me to continue planning the details of this special trip together. I’ll wear my lei and have a tropical tiki pineapple drink ready to go!
Mahalo,
Amy
