We'll be @ Poly w/DD2.5 and DS4. There are several nights when we don't want to venture far from our resort for dinner, but want to add in a bit of variety, possibly @ GF but not 1900 Park Fare because we're already doing many Character Meals. Suggestions?

    Hi, Julie!

One of the things I love about the Polynesian is the proximity to other resorts so you can go and enjoy their dining options.  Just hop on the monorail and you are at the Grand Floridian or Contemporary in just minutes.  Some options for you that are family friendly:

Grand Floridian has The Grand Floridian Cafe which is a lovely restaurant.  It has an upscale feel but still perfect for families.  You can also pop into the Grand Floridian Gasparilla Grill food court area to see if there is something to enjoy there for a quick bite to eat.

The Contemporary has The Wave (table service) or the Contempo Cafe (quick service).  I know it seems crazy to head there for just quick service, but there is something so wonderful about the 4th floor of the Contemporary!  The fun Contempo Cafe, the energy from Chef Mickey's, the monorail zooming by overhead, and some fun gift shops.

The Grand Floridian Cafe and The Wave are both table service restaurants so dining reservations are always recommended, but you might luck out with a walk-in if you are stopping by last minute.

Enjoy your stay at the beautiful Polynesian!  This is one of my family's favorites. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
