What is the policy if you wear just a face shield? Tom

Hi there, Tom! Thank you so much for bringing your question our way.

As you know, many safety precautions are currently being taken at the Walt Disney World Resort. One of these new procedures requires all Guests ages two and older to wear appropriate face coverings so everyone can enjoy the magic of Walt Disney World Resort together safely. Current policy states that face coverings must be worn at all times, except when eating in designated areas or swimming. Face coverings may be disposable or reusable, but they must be made with at least two layers of breathable material. Face coverings must fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under your chin, fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face, and be secured with ties or ear loops. Face shields do not meet the current guidelines and may not be worn alone, but you may wear them in addition to an approved face covering. These guidelines also do not allow any other type of face covering with an open bottom, such as open-chin triangle bandanas, neck gaiters, or similar coverings.

I make the best of it when I have to wear a face-covering by wearing one with style! As long as it fits the guidelines above and isn't displaying anything offensive, you can have any fun designs on your mask. My kids and I have several we purchased from shopDisney, and they are not only the most fun, but they also are some of the most comfortable face coverings we have tried. These same face coverings can also be found to purchase throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Whichever approved face covering you decide on, be sure to bring many different ones for each person traveling in your party. You will want to be sure you always have a fresh mask on hand if one gets sweaty or dirty, or you need a fresh one.  I have also found that having some hard peppermint candy on hand helps with the stuffy feeling I have from time to time. For younger children who shouldn't have hard candy or even adults, a small dab of essential oil in any pleasing scent has also helped my family.

Please stop by and visit us here at planDisney if you have any other questions regarding your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit, Tom. We are always happy to help.

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
