What is the policy for resort guests receiving deliveries from 3rd party vendors to a walt disney world resort

    Royal Greetings, Stephen!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question!  Our family loves the home-away-from-home amenities in the Disney Vacation Club Resorts, including the kitchenettes in the Deluxe Studios and full-sized kitchens with gadgets and gizmos aplenty.  One of my favorite features is being able to sit back, relax, as the dining table presents our dinner so that we can enjoy family time in our home-sweet-home after a fun Disney day.

Stephen, you can accept deliveries from third-party vendors, like groceries or rental companies if you are planning to rent strollers, cribs, motorized scooters, etc.  You could even order in food from outside restaurants.  If you are receiving a delivery like a stroller, crib, or a meal being delivered by someone like DoorDash or Uber Eats, I would recommend meeting the vendor in the lobby.

Now, for groceries, here is some information that will be helpful to know.  You can order grocery delivery from any service provider you wish. Our family has done this several times with Instacart, Whole Foods, and Amazon Fresh, but my parents love to order from Walmart. Some of our planDisney panelists like to order from the Garden Grocer.

One thing to note is that when groceries arrive, they will be delivered to the Bell Desk in the hotel lobby.  Some of the Resorts do not have the capacity to store perishable items, and this is Resort-specific, so my recommendation is always to time your delivery to when you will be in your room. In Florida's heat, perishable items can spoil quickly, so it is best that you are in the room when they arrive.

Once the groceries arrive, you can request Bell Services deliver them to your room; however, they charge a $6 fee (subject to change) for each delivery.    You can avoid this fee by meeting the delivery driver in the lobby, borrowing a luggage cart, and delivering the groceries to your room yourself. If you have alcohol delivered with your order, you will have to meet the driver in the lobby to present your photo ID, as Cast Members can't accept alcohol on your behalf.

I hope this helps you, Stephen! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back here to see me.  With a "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," I'll be happy to help make magic for you!

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
