Hi Ann,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question!
Sometimes plans change, but as Walt Disney said, "If you can dream it, you can do it" so even if your plans change and you aren't able to visit this time, you can keep your dreams alive and visit on another occasion.
Ann, if you have booked a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation package which includes Disney Resort hotel accommodations and theme park tickets, then you may cancel your vacation package without penalties if you do so 30 days or more in advance of your arrival and receive a full refund. If you cancel your vacation package from 2-29 days ahead of your arrival, then you will incur a $200 cancellation penalty. If you cancel your vacation package the day prior to your arrival, then you forfeit your entire package cost.
However, if you have a
Disney Resort hotel room-only reservation and not a vacation package then your terms are slightly different. In that case, you may cancel your room-only reservation up to 5 days in advance and receive a full refund. If you cancel your Disney Resort hotel room-only reservation 4 days or less in advance, then you forfeit the cost of one night's stay which is also the price of the deposit you made at the time of booking.
I hope your vacation plans go on without a hitch, but if you need to make a change keep the above dates in mind so that you can receive a full refund. If you do find yourself needing to cancel you can do so in your
My Disney Experience account or by calling and speaking to a Cast Member at the number listed in this link for
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations.
