Is there a policy pertaining to motorized wheel chairs if you bring your own? We went Oct 2012, my mom had her own, she rode my daughter on her lap here an there, no problems at MK, AK and Epcot, but had an issue at Hollywood Studios, told not allowed

Hi Lisa! This is a tough situation for those who have mobility issues and traveling with young children. Disney does have a policy in effect that passengers are not allowed on ECV's but they can ride on the lap of a manual wheelchair. The policy is in effect for safety reasons for both your mother and your daughter. Although your mother might be quite adept at driving her own there are many guests who are not experienced and it becomes a hazard for themselves and all guests. Policies are in place for the general population just as any other rule and they are just trying to look out for the masses.

Is it possible you could rent or bring a small stroller for your daughter on the next visit? This would allow her to take a rest from walking now and then. Disney sells the simple but very nice umbrella stroller in just about any shop on property and in the past I have bought one and then donated it back to the resort for future guests who might need one during their stay.

The parks are large and the cast member at Hollywood Studios was the one that was correct in informing you of the rule.
