Welcome to planDisney, Marian!
Dreams of walking down Main Street U.S.A., seeing Cinderella Castle in the distance, and holding a colorful Mickey Mouse balloon are always floating in my mind. I’m sure that you’re looking forward to that next vacation, too, including spending time poolside at the Resort hotels and getting on thrilling attractions. But sometimes plans have to change, and that’s okay.
So, let’s jump right into the ins and outs of cancelling a Walt Disney World vacation package. Vacation packages include both your Disney World Resort hotel and theme park tickets (with the option to add on a dining plan). If you are more than 30 days out from your arrival date, you can receive a full refund if you cancel. However, if you cancel within 2-29 days of your trip, you will forfeit your $200 deposit. If you cancel the day of or before your visit? Only then will you not receive a refund at all. You can find the entire policy on the
2026 Terms and Conditions webpage.
If you made a tickets-only purchase, those are nonrefundable and nontransferable (that means that you can’t give them to someone else if you’ve already used them). However, you can use dated tickets for another day by modifying the date in your
My Disney Experience account. You may be asked to pay the difference of price if the new date’s is higher. And for hotel room-only bookings, you will get a refund if you cancel 8 or more days beforehand.
AN EXTRA GEM: Marian, if you do visit in April, you have to go over to EPCOT for the
Flower & Garden Festival. Although it’s hard to choose, I think it’s my favorite of the festivals there—the detailed topiaries, garden-fresh food, and special activities are practically perfect.
Whatever decision you make, Marian, it’s going to be the right one. With a little pixie dust, you’ll be at Disney World when it’s the best for you and your crew. Please
reach out to us here at planDisney with any additional questions.
Magic always,
LeAndra
