Welcome to planDisney, Stephanie.
As Remy once said, “The only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability.” Canceling a dream vacation to Walt Disney World Resort is never fun. However, as Ursula says, "Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?" Sometimes life throws us a curveball and we need to make less than magical decisions.
Although any policy is subject to change, the
Walt Disney World cancelation policy currently states that if you cancel a Disney Resort Hotel Package 30 days or more prior to your arrival, you should expect to receive a full refund. However, if you cancel 29 days to 2 days before your arrival date you will receive a full refund, minus a $200 penalty per room. This includes any Theme Park tickets you've purchased with your room and ticket package. If you wait to cancel until 1 day or less before your visit then the full package is not refundable. Depending on the exact package you booked (for example, if you booked a third-party hotel), there might be some other cancelation fees that are applicable. However, if you do think you might have to cancel, I'd encourage you to make a decision sooner rather than later. If you need to cancel, Stephanie, then you can call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservation team and speak to a friendly Cast Member. They'll be able to give you all the help you need.
However, I'll be wishing upon a star that you won't have to cancel. Mickey and his friends are eager for you to join them for
The World's Most Magical Celebration.
See ya real soon, Stephanie!
Mike
