What is the policy for accommodating our group of 8 people when we travel to disney with our 2 behaviorally and mentally challenged children as well as my own muscular dystrophy. Thank you!

Hi, Tasha!  Guests needing additional assistance due to disability or injury can visit guest services when they arrive at the theme park and inquire about a Guest Assistance Card.  The card is customized based on the needs of the person in your party, and accommodations that can be offered include waiting in a shaded spot, offering a seated area to wait until it's your turn, providing an area inside a theater that facilitates low vision or hearing difficulties, or possibly offering an alternative line that might move a little more quickly than the general queue.  Not all accommodations are available at all attractions, but they do their best to provide you with the most comfortable experience.

The Guest Assistance Card usually accommodates a guest and up to five members of their party.  Because you have multiple guests who may benefit from the use of the card, you might be able to get two cards, however, some attractions can only accommodate a certain number of guests at a time with special needs.  For example, there are some attractions with cars especially outfitted to accommodate a wheelchair, but a party of eight may not fit on the vehicle.  Your best bet is going to be to approach the cast members at each individual attraction to see what can be done.  You may have to split your party at some attractions if your accommodations dictate.

Have an absolutely magical time on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!
