Hello Amanda,
Amanda, with your Disney vacation rapidly approaching in the next few days, the first thing I'd like to do is to reassure you that you'll discover Walt Disney World Resort to be a truly inclusive destination to visit with your family. The most magical place on earth offers a vacation where every Guest, from the young to the simply young at heart can feel instantly at home.
I thought you may like to take a peek at this
past Disney Parks Blog article which features my fellow planDisney panelist Jackie P and her dear family. The article describes so beautifully how
Disability Services at Walt Disney World Resort are able to assist Guests with cognitive disabilities, thus allowing them to make as many magical memories as possible with their loved ones.
As we continue
Returning to a World of Magic at Walt Disney World Resort I'm happy to share that there are many
Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities with fantastic resources such as -
-
Tips and Strategies for Families of Individuals with Cognitive Disabilities Including Autism -
Guide for Attractions - this detailed guide provides an indispensable insight into each Attraction!
-
Planning a Trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort A Resource for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)In addition to providing Guests with the services of
Stroller and
Wheelchair Rentals, use of strollers as wheelchairs,
Rider Switch service, break areas - simply ask the nearest Cast Member for assistance to direct you to a break area away from crowds and companion restrooms.
Also, I have some great recently updated news about the wearing of
Face Coverings at Walt Disney World Resort. At present, all Guests (& Cast Members!) aged 2 years old and over are required to wear face coverings in all indoor locations, except when actively eating or drinking whilst remaining stationary and maintaining physical distancing. It might be useful for you to know that face coverings are currently
optional in outdoor areas at Walt Disney World Resort but however, are still required when entering and enjoying all Attractions, Entertainment venues, and Transportation.
Amanda, I really hope I've been able to provide a little insight today and now all that remains is for me to wish you and your dear family a magical May vacation! Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
