Hey There, John!
I'm so glad you found your way to planDisney. It looks like you're just a few days away from arriving at Walt Disney World Resort –– I love spontaneous trips! If you ask me, one of the best parts of being a
Disney Vacation Club Member is knowing that your Vacation Points can be used however works best for you, whether you're planning a big family vacation or jetting down for a last-minute stay. And when you add that with the flexibility to use your Points at non-DVC Resorts, the possibilities are endless! I'm happy to share some details about how a
Disney Collection exchange works, so you can finalize plans for your upcoming visit.
With its newly-redesigned Disney Collection, Disney Vacation Club has made it easier than ever for eligible Members to use their Points at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, for incredible
Disney Experiences, and at exciting
Disney Destinations around the world. You can find the full list of available Walt Disney World Resort hotels by hovering over the "Destinations" tab on the Disney Vacation Club website and selecting "Disney Resorts Near & Far" from the drop-down menu. On the next page, click the "View All Resorts" button to view the full list along with Points Charts. Once you're ready to go, you'll need to give Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800 to check availability and begin the booking process.
Booking a Disney Collection exchange is a little different than booking a normal DVC reservation, so I'd like to share a few additional details about the process. Each confirmed exchange reservation requires a non-refundable $95 transaction fee, due at the time of booking. Most of these reservations are also subject to the Rule of Four, which means that they can't be booked during the final four months of your Use Year if the stay occurs
during that Use Year (however, they can be booked during the last four months if the stay occurs during your upcoming Use Year). And finally, Vacation Points are converted to Reservation Points for an exchange, which means that they cannot be transferred back to Vacation Points. This means that should you need to cancel your reservation, those Points
cannot be used to book another reservation at a DVC Resort, but they can be used to book another Disney Collection exchange.
Before you arrive, you'll also want to be sure to download your
new Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card, which replaced your "blue card" that expired at the end of 2021. You can do this by signing into the
My Disney Experience app on your mobile device using the Disney Account that is linked to your DVC Membership and creating a new
Disney MagicMobile pass. This will act as your new Membership Card and be saved to your smartphone's digital wallet, giving your easy and convenient access to all your Member Benefits during your upcoming visit.
Thanks for visiting planDisney, John. I hope your upcoming stay is filled with Membership magic from start to finish!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
