Hi Romano,
Welcome home! And welcome to planDisney!
Thank you for visiting us with your question today. We are so happy you stopped by! As a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, I love helping others make the most of their membership. My family and I have been enjoying our membership for several years now. We just wish we had joined sooner!
One of my favourite things about DVC Membership is just how flexible it is. Romano, you can cancel or modify a Disney Vacation Club reservation to use fewer
Vacation Points at any time, as long as it’s at least 31 days before your check-in date, and there’s no penalty. Your Vacation Points will return to where they came from. Just keep in mind that banked or borrowed points will remain in the use year they were moved into when the reservation was made.
But unfortunately, sometimes, life happens! If something unexpected happens within 30 days of arrival and you need to cancel or modify your reservation, which reduces the points used, the refunded points will move into a
holding account. These can still be used until the end of that use year, but they can only be used for reservations 60 days or less before the new check-in date. Please keep in mind that Vacation Points in a holding account cannot be banked or borrowed. If a cancellation happens on the day of check-in, those Vacation Points will be forfeited.
I hope this helps you to plan how to best use your Vacation Points, Romano! If you have any further questions about your membership or vacation planning, please
reach out to me. I'd love to help!
See ya real soon!
Matt
