Hi there Michael, welcome to planDisney!
It's great to hear from a
Disney Vacation Club Member who is exploring their Disney Vacation Club Membership, I hope you're getting great use out of it like my family! We enjoy the flexibility offered by a Disney Vacation Club Membership and love how we can select from a variety of types of accommodations at many resorts to find the perfect fit for our travel party. Isn't it great how Members can also use
Vacation Points for stays outside of
DVC resorts? Let's take a look at how to exchange Vacation Points for Reservation Points.
Great news, Michael, you can use your DVC Vacation Points, exchange them for Reservation Points that can be used to book
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. To view the number of Reservation Points needed (when exchanged, 1 Vacation Point = 1 Reservation Point), visit the DVC website and select the “Plan a Vacation” tab. From here, click on
Points Charts and then scroll down until you see “Disney Collection - Disney Stays”. Click on “Walt Disney World Resort” and choose the year you are interested in. This will bring up the Points Chart where you can see the Points needed.
When booking a stay within the Disney Collection at Walt Disney World Resort, the Rule of Four applies. This means you cannot book or stay during the last four months of your
Use Year. However, if the reservation is made within the first eight months of your Use Year, you're good to go, even if the stay falls within those final four months. Also, keep in mind that when completing an exchange, there is a one-time, non-refundable fee (currently $95, though this is subject to change).
Michael, I hope this information is helpful to your vacation planning. If you have any other DVC or vacation planning questions, please
let me know! Thanks for stopping by
planDisney!
Welcome Home,
