I have 124 points banked for 2022. I will receive 150 points in February of 2023. Can I borrow 150 points from 2024 for a total of 424 point to schedule a vacation in 2023?

Hey there, Cheryl! Welcome back to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with your Disney Vacation Club question. I love chatting with a fellow Member!

Don't you just love being a DVC Member?! I know I sure do! Knowing that my family's next pixie-dusted adventure is always right on the horizon is priceless. But with Use Years, Vacation Points, banking, borrowing and more, sometimes, it can be as confusing as it is magical. That's why we at planDisney are here, and I'm thrilled to help you plan your 2023 adventure!

As long as your 2023 vacation takes place within your 2023 Use Year (on or after February 1st), you can bank your 2022 Points into your 2023 Use Year and borrow up to 100 percent of Points from your 2024 Use Year - for a total of 424 Points - to book your vacation. Be aware that you have until September 30, 2022, to bank your 2022 Vacation Points, so, if you have not banked them yet, be sure to set a reminder to bank your Points or do so right away. Remember that banking is a final transaction, so, just make sure that your travel plans are set before you do bank your Points. You can borrow your Points during the booking process, and the system will let you know exactly how much you need to borrow to complete your reservation.

After banking and borrowing, if you find that you need more Points, did you know that you can purchase up to 24 One-Time-Use Points per Use Year to complete a reservation?! These Points can only be purchased when making a new reservation once you are within your seven-month booking window, and you can purchase them by calling Member Services. I have purchased these Points many times to upgrade to a premium view, add a day to my trip or even save Points for future use. It's so convenient and is just one example of Membership magic!

Cheryl, don't forget that your booking window to book a stay at your Home Resort opens 11 months before check-in, so, if your trip is planned for July 2023 or earlier, you can likely book your stay at your Home Resort NOW! Happy booking and happy planning, my friend!

I hope this was helpful, Cheryl, and I hope your 2023 vacation is full of magical memories! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon,
