Hi Diana,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm happy to help you plan snacks for your family during your Walt Disney World vacation.
There are only a couple of prohibitions for bringing your own food and drink into the Walt Disney World theme parks --
Magic Kingdom,
EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and
Hollywood Studios. You can't bring alcoholic beverages from the outside and glass containers are prohibited except for baby food jars. At
Animal Kingdom, for the safety of the animals, plastic straws also are not allowed. (Disney has transitioned
away from plastic straws in all its parks recently as part of its environmental efforts). You can find the
full list of rules for Walt Disney World here.
I've seen families bring everything from a few snacks and drinks to a lunch of sandwiches and chips to a full meal packed in a cooler. (You will find the size restrictions on coolers in that list of rules as well). It's really up to you how much you want to bring and how you want to carry it. I don't like to be weighed down, but I usually carry a couple of protein bars, some trail mix and a refillable water bottle in my tote bag. When my daughters were small, I would put a bag full of crackers, juice boxes and other munchies in the bottom of the stroller for easy access.
Did you know, Diana, that every quick service food location at Walt Disney World will give you a free cup of ice water, even if you aren't buying food? That's a great way to save money and keep everyone in your family well-hydrated for all your fun in the theme parks.
Thanks for your question, and please let us know if we can help in any other way as you make your plans. Enjoy!
Wilma
