Robert from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

It is 4-16-2022. Are the Point borrowing rules still in place, where we can only borrow 50% of the next years use or 50% per contract? If so, when might these restrictions on next year use borrowing be lifted?

Hey there, Robert! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with your Disney Vacation Club question. I just love chatting with a fellow Member!

Don't you just LOVE being a Disney Vacation Club Member?! Knowing that my family's next magical adventure is always right around the corner is priceless and brings such joy to my life. It seems that no matter how many Vacation Points I add on, I always need more! Because of this, I am in a perpetual state of borrowing Points, so, I am happy to answer your question today.

At this time, the temporary borrowing policy change, stating that Members can only borrow up to 50 percent of the next Use Year's allotted Vacation Points, is still in effect. I spoke with a helpful Cast Member with DVC Member Services today, and she informed me that while an end date for this policy change has not yet been determined, she assured me that the inventory is continuously being monitored and re-evaluated with the goal of returning to the standard policy as soon as possible. She advised checking the DVC website or contacting Member Services for updates, and you can always return here to planDisney to ask me, as well! I'll be wishing upon every star that the restriction is lifted very soon!

Did you know that you can purchase up to 24 One-Time-Use Points to complete the vacation reservation of your dreams every Use Year?! If you find that even after borrowing 50 percent of your next Use Year's Points or if you choose not to borrow Points, and you are within your seven-month booking window, you can call Member Services to purchase these One-Time-Use Points and make your reservation. Points equal magic, and more magic is always the answer!

Robert, even though this might not have been the answer you were hoping for, I hope that it was at least helpful, and I hope you stop by again with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have. You've got a friend in me!

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
