Hi! If I have an After 1 pm ticket, can I still try to get in a virtual queue when it opens at 7 am?

Hey Howdy Hey Maria and welcome to planDisney!

I bet you are super excited about your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in a few days. There is so much to be excited about for your trip this time of year, but before we get to all the excitement, it sounds like we need to talk Virtual Queues! Thank you for your question about these queues, I will do my best to give you the most up-to-date information on their usage.

Virtual Queues have been relatively new to Walt Disney World. This is a way to manage lines for some of the newer and more popular attractions. Virtual Queues can be entered starting at 7:00 AM on the day of your park visit from anywhere. As long as you have a ticket to the parks, you should be able to access the Virtual Queue. Depending on when you get to the parks, if you miss your chance at 7 AM, you have another shot at 1:00 PM. The catch for the afternoon opening is you have to be inside the park of the attraction you want to join the queue for.

On the day of your park visit, be sure to log into your My Disney Experience app a few minutes before 7 AM. You can select the Virtual Queue option from your main menu and select which park you want to join the queue. You will be asked to confirm your party as well and then the screen will prompt you to refresh at 7 AM. If you are lucky enough to get a boarding pass, you also will be given an estimate on when your group will be called. As long as your group is close to when you will be in the parks you should be set for your experience. Once your group is called you typically have about an hour to check into the attraction for your experience.

It looks like you will be visiting the parks on the weekend that Tiana's Bayou Adventure officially opens which is on June 28th. This attraction as well as TRON Lightcycle / Run are the 2 attractions in Magic Kingdom that will be available through the Virtual Queue option. Just know that you will only be able to hold one Virtual Queue spot at a time. So if you have a boarding group for Tiana's which is scheduled to be called at 2 PM, you will not be able to get into the queue for TRON unless you redeem your spot or give it up.

I hope this information helps to prepare your strategy for the attraction experience during your trip. If you have any further questions let us know, we are always happy to help!
